Our dreams are big, but our God is bigger!
In the fall of 2012, God spoke to pastor Ryan Scott in a vision, calling he and his wife, Brittani, to Seattle to start a church. Packing up their SUV with all their belongings, they headed toward Seattle without enough gas money to get them all the way. God provided, and has been providing ever since.
January 1, 2013, the Scotts moved into the Belltown neighborhood and began teaching Bible Studies in local coffee shops. Soon, the Refuge Church was born, with the first service being held in the Belltown Community Center.
A few years, 4 locations, and a pandemic later, The Refuge moved into a permanent home at 2327 West Commodore Way. Along the way, there have been many miracles God has done to see The Refuge prosper. Looking forward into the future, our dreams are larger than they have ever been before. It is our desire to see many churches planted around the region. And we're excited about each and every person that joins the effort to see lives changed, souls saved, and a populous region hear the Gospel of Jesus!
We can't wait for you to experience the Refuge! There is plenty of parking along Commodore Way. Once you come inside, you will be greeted by friendly faces helping to get you settled into a seat of your choice.
You can expect to hear folks praying leading up to the start of service. Once the countdown hits zero, you can worship along with us as we sing and praise. Following worship service is the preaching of the Word. At the end of the message, there will be a time for anyone who feels to respond and pray.
After service ends, there is a lot of visiting and laughing as we enjoy our time together in fellowship.
